The Murchison River is a nice place to swim in the Kalbarri National Park. There is a series of large swimming holes along this river. The large sandy banks make for easy access to the river.
To get this swimming hole the quick way, take the loop track in a clockwise direction. The trail descends from the car park straight to the riverbed where you can swim as soon as the trail meets the river. The loop track follows the river for quite some time and there are swimming holes all along the river until the track rises back up to the plateau.
The other option is to hike the full Loop Track in an anti clockwise direction, and then swim at the last swimming hole before ascending back up to the car park. This way you can wash off and cool down on a hot day after the hike.
