The Spit

The Spit is an excellent place for a picnic and a swim located on Lake Somerset. There is a large swimming area with deep water, shady trees, picnic tables, toilets and BBQ’s. It’s the perfect place to relax and take a swim on a hot day. There is also a boat ramp and unfortunately you’ll see jet skis here on busy days which are really annoying for everyone except those who are riding them. Fortunately the swimming area is in a roped off area so it provides some distance from the jet skis. Opening Hours: 5:30am – 6:30pm (Sep to Apr) and 6:00am – 5:30pm (May to Aug).
