Wheel of Fire Falls is a strange name for a waterfall. The name has nothing to do with the cascading waterfall or the magnificent swimming hole at the base of the falls, it is simply named after the red flowers which bloom on the surrounding trees. This is a beautiful swimming location and the walk up the gorge is well worth your time. Wheel of Fire Falls are located in the Finch Hatton Gorge area of Eungella National Park. The walk to the falls and swimming hole is 1.8km one way. About half way up the track to Wheel of Fire there is another path leading off to a swimming hole called Aurelean Cascades.
