Goomboora Park is park is bounded by Freshwater Creek with natural rain forest in the back ground. This section of the creek makes a great place to swim and cool down. The water is very shallow and crystal clear! It’s not too far from the centre of Cairns. There are a number of swimming holes along this section of Freshwater Creek and also a large grassed area in front of the creek for picnics. It is also a popular place for people to float downstream on various blow up devices. Other attractions in the park include: BBQ’s, Drinking water, dog off leash, picnic shelters, picnic tables, playground, toilets and walking tracks.
WARNING: As far as we know, this part of Freshwater Creek is crocodile free, however please observe all local signage and stay out of the water when the creek is flooding.
