Florence Falls is an impressive twin waterfall with a big deep swimming hole at the base of the falls. It is located in the Litchfield National Park, probably one of the best national parks for swimming in Australia. The waterhole is like an aquarium with lots of fish swimming around (bring goggles or a mask and snorkel with you if you have them). There is also a cave or rocky underwater overhang to the left of the pool. If you dive under the overhang you can see air bubbles trapped against the rock, it’s quite fascinating.
There are no crocodiles in this swimming hole, it is protected by a rocky creek and as far as I call tell it doesn’t need to be cleared after wet season like some of the other pools.
